OPLIN Internet Filtering Assistance Program for 2011-2012

OPLIN is now accepting applications from libraries for Internet filtering assistance grants for fiscal year 2012. Full details and a link to the application form are available at http://oplin.org/internet-filtering-assistance. The application deadline is September 30, 2011, with awards starting November 1. All awards must be disbursed to vendors and the filtering applications must be operational by June 30, 2012.

2011-12 Statewide Public Library Salary Survey

NEO-RLS is currently collecting information for the 2011-2012 Public Library Salary Survey.  Participation is free and provides your library access to this valuable tool for library planning and budgeting. Do you need to carry out a similar survey or research a more narrow topic for your academic papers? Some of the features of this survey allow your library to:

 

·         Display the statewide salary averages for all positions from all participating libraries.

·         Compare the experience, education, and average salaries of library staff across the state.

·         Select a group of libraries and analyze salary trends over the past Twelve years.

·         Compare a group of libraries based on size.

·         Compare libraries throughout the state based on key library specific demographics.

·         Create unique reports based on a single point of data and group it by library.

NEO will be collecting data until September 30, 2011 after which NEO will compile the results of this survey and make them available in electronic form to participants starting October 1, 2011.  If your library has participated in the past, you should have received information via email for this year’s participation.  If you have not received an email or have not participated but would like to participate please contact the NEO-RLS Office at (330) 847-7744 or email Shawn Walsh [email protected] .
