Subject Resignation of Executive Director

Gary Silver, Executive Director of NOLA Regional Library System, has resigned effective April 15th, 1997. Sue McCleaf Nespeca will be Acting Director of NOLA until an Executive Director is appointed.

NOLA Working on nola.org
Most of you who are familiar with The NOLA Desktop, are aware that the site will soon become password protected and not available for the public. To continue to provide a "face" to the world, we are working on http://www.nola.org to take over as our Internet presence. When this page is ready, it will contain CE descriptions and registration, a membership application, neat examples of our services and a complete listing of member sites. Let us know if you would like to see anything special on our Welcome Doorway to NOLA.

Meeting with Netforce Development
I met with the folks at Netforce (the company working on member webpages) today. We had a cordial meeting with Lauren and Mark that should get us on track to satisfying your needs as members as well as finishing up the grant. Lauren will be contacting you folks shortly to coordinate the conclusion of this project. I'm also readying a special page pertinent to the development of the members pages and information about mounting pages on our server. Look for that soon under the Technology section. I will also be setting up a forum for this project.

New Member Pages
If you check the Membership Directory, you'll find some new additions. Bristol, Kinsman, Lepper, Newton Falls, Portage County, and Youngstown School District have gone online. Please note, the Netforce URL is a temporary address and will be changed when the pages reach their ultimate homes.
