OPLIN Board Chair and Tech Committee Chair testify before Senate Finance Committee
Both testified in front of the Finance and Financial Institutions Committee of the Ohio Senate on Thursday. Check out the text of their testimony as it directly relates to the current issues concerning provision of Internet services in Public Libraries.

Like to know what other States are Doing?
Dennis Hoops of MOLO passed on a listserv message that culls various statewide Internet efforts.

New HTML-Based Forums
We are trying out a new forum format that would allow folks to participate directly within a web browser. The only operational forum at present is The Library Channel, a forum dedicated to discussion pertinent to the library terminal management software. Try it out and let us know what you think of the new forum format. Easier? Better? Stupid?

Webmaster to be off next week
I'll be in Las Vegas at a networking conference; Networld/Interop. I hope to be able to share some interesting information when I return. I'll be checking email frequently and logging reports about the state of the art in Internet/LAN/WAN development. Watch this space for details.

Changes coming for Desktop areas
Keep your eye on some of the areas throughout The NOLA Desktop; we'll be making dramatic changes and additions in response to user feedback.
