Book Look

The NOLA Book Look (new materials examination) is today, May 15 and Friday, May 16. There are 755 new children's and young adult books set up in the conference room for NOLA member library staff to review. These books are received from various publishing houses on a daily basis. Elaine enters information about each book (title, author, illustrator, ISBN, price, publisher) into the database and a list is printed for each person who attends Book Look. This is an excellent way to view the book before your library purchases it. As Carol Davis, Leetonia Community Public Library, said this morning, "I found a book to use for Reader's Theater that I would not have purchased otherwise." The books will be set-up through 4:30 p.m. tomorrow if you are interested in seeing what NOLA's Book Look is all about.
