Membership Retreat

New Intranet additions

The members resource page is getting very robust and I'm finding it scales well. HeHe, that's network geekspeak. Seriously though, check out the page for valuable links to help you in your day to day work.

Intranet Tip O' the Day

Have you visited the NOLA Search Resource Page? In addition to being able to search the entire NOLA Intranet with keywords, there is also a comprehensive search engine page, complete with links to most of the major directories and webcrawlers.

Info to come concerning Universal Access

The Universal Access portion of the Telecom Act is in the process of being implemented. Visit the FCC site to read the press release concerning this legislation that will ultimately lower telecommunications costs for libraries and schools. There is an upcoming teleconference on June 3rd concerning all of the ramifications. It looks like Kent State will be hosting a public viewing sometime in July or August. We will keep you informed.

Still looking for publishers

If you have a specialty or specific expertise that you would like to share with the rest of the system, we can help you. We'll provide the space, the training and even generate interest and participation through the NOLA Intranet. You can host an online forum, publish regular articles or just maintain a list of quality links to other resources. Send email to me if you are interested.
