New Frontpage Beta Looking Good

Microsoft has released a new beta version of it's popular HTML authoring tool; Frontpage. You can download the beta or send in a request for the CDROM. I have played with the program a little bit and am fairly impressed. One of the great new features for library folk will be Themes. Similar to functionality found in NetObjects Fusion, Themes are stylized formats and templates where headers, buttons and graphic splashes all follow a thematic look. This makes it easy for non-designers to create great looking sites. There is support now for Dynamic HTML, Style Sheets and some new WebBot-type components. One note; because we are hosting so many member's sites on the NOLA webserver, we will not be adding the FP98 server extensions until they get out of beta. This will limit some of the functionality, but in the meantime, you can begin to play with the program and get a feel for it. I installed it along side my FP97 and both coexist and work fine.
