What is the ListenOhio CD Project?

The concept of “do more with less” is a reality today at NEO-RLS libraries. In these times of economic decline and state wide budget cuts, it becomes imperative that new ways be found to reduce costs while continuing to provide new services. The concept of the ListenOhio CD project provides libraries another option in satisfying the demand of audiobooks on CD in their library.

ListenOhio currently owns more than 3300 popular digital audiobook titles in MP3 format, which may be downloaded by any of the participating libraries. While all titles are stored in MP3 format, NEO-RLS is now using a portion of the collection to begin offering libraries the option to subscribe to an audiobook on CD circuit.

How does this work?

Libraries subscribing to this new service would receive a rotating collection of 20 different audiobooks on CD six times per year, allowing participating libraries an opportunity to offer 120 audiobook titles to their patrons every year at minimal cost. Additional kits will be available for libraries needing more than one collection of titles.

How can I get more information or sign up for the ListenOhio CD Circuit?

If your library is interested in this service or would like more information, contact Rose Marie Pecchio at the NEO-RLS office (
