NOLA Book Discussion Program Policies

Lost or Damaged Books A member library will pay the cost of replacing a lost or damaged book plus a $2.00 processing fee. NOLA will bill the library when it learns from Portage County District Library that a book must be replaced. Overdue Books If a member library is unable to forward all of the books in a book discussion set, the librarian will send a note with the books stating he/she will forward the overdue books as soon as possible. Non-NOLA Libraries A non-NOLA library that is interested in using Book Discussion books may only do so if the following conditions are adhered to: 1. The library must be located within the nine county geographic service area of NOLA. 2. The library cannot use sets less than one year old. 3. The library cannot request sets during the summer period while member libraries are requesting sets. 4. Cost per group, per library regardless of how many groups a library may sponsor, is $125 per group.   Outside Groups An outside group that is interested in using Book Discussion books may only do so if the following conditions are adhered to: 1.The outside group will be sponsored by a NOLA member library. 2. The group can not use sets less than three years old. 3. Groups cannot request sets during the summer period while libraries are requesting sets. NORWELD NORWELD may borrow NOLA Book Discussion sets with the exception of the most recent sets.
