ChargeThe
Legislative Committee will work with the Executive Director to decide what activities it
should sponsor this fiscal year and encourage membership participation in them.
The Committee will monitor issues in the General
Assembly and Congress that may affect NOLA and its member libraries and will develop
appropriate responses to any such issues. Close attention will be paid to quickly
mobilizing membership responses to these issues.
Activities of the Committee will emphasize the
continued needs of NOLA and other regional library systems in Ohio and will work closely
with all appropriate organizations to retain the increased state funding for RLS.
The Committee will make recommendations concerning
legislative related training for members.
The Committee will work with the Executive Director
to plan a NOLA activity as part of the OLC Legislative Day in Columbus. The Committee will
work to encourage membership attendance at all functions and to increase participation.
The Committee will coordinate a NOLA Open House for Legislators so they can see NOLA in
action. Members will serve as hosts when legislators tour the NOLA office, the Conference
& Training Center and the Digital Collections Service Center.
The Committee will provide opportunities for members
and staff to serve on legislative related committees.
