| The Niles Library Association was founded
in 1908. Ohio libraries started being organized in the 1920's and 1930's. The
McKinley Birthplace Memorial was dedicated in 1917 and is constructed of Georgian
marble with two lateral wings: one is occupied by McKinley Memorial Library, and the
other by the museum and auditorium. The museum consists of memorabilia from President William McKinley's early life in Niles; Civil War and Spanish-American War artifacts; campaign materials; and presidential items. A really wonderful sight for children on the Mckinley Memorial Library home page is called McKIDLey. |
