McCain Bill Would Impose Restrictions on Schools. Are Libraries Next?

Senator John McCain (R-AZ) has outlined priorities for the second session of the 105th Congress. Concerning the Universal Service provisions of the Telecom bill, McCain says "There is no assurance that children using these subsidized Internet services in school will not be able to access indecent material available on the Web." McCain will introduce legislation to make sure that schools receiving federally-established Internet subsidies limit students’ access to indecent Internet material in the classroom.
