Spring Planning Retreat

NOLA would like to encourage YOU to participate in the April 21st Spring Planning Retreat at the Avalon Inn. NOLA is at a crossroads and we need to make decisions concerning our preferred future and then develop strategies to move us in that direction. Because YOUR input is critical to NOLA we are also asking YOU to complete a survey to assist with the planning process - even if YOU are unable to attend the Retreat. For additional information about the Retreat and the survey, click here.

Funding Resources: The Foundation Center

The Foundation Center is an independent nonprofit information clearinghouse whose mission is to foster public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects. The audiences that use the Center's resources include grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public.

The Foundation operates libraries at five locations: New York City, Washington, DC, Cleveland, Atlanta and San Francisco. Center libraries are open to the public free of charge. Click here for additional information

Programming for Middle Grades

Very often I receive requests on programming for middle grades (grades 4 - 6 ) here at NOLA. On April 1, we are offering a workshop on Programming and Literature for Middle Grades. I am excited about our three speakers:

Tami Morehart, Wagnalls Memorial Library, Lithopolis, OH

Nancy Smith, Westerville Public Library, Westerville, OH

Bonnie Banks, Amos Memorial Public Library, Sidney, OH

Unfortunately, we have few people signed up for this workshop though many librarians are uncertain how to program for this age group. I hope you will consider attending - it promises to be an informative day.
