NOLA Deputy Director Resignation

After ten years with the NOLA Regional Library System, Sue McCleaf Nespeca has submitted her resignation effective May 31st. She is nationally known for her work in Youth Services. While at NOLA Sue developed the Born to Read program, the Picture Book Read-In/Mock Caldecott Election, the Early Childhood Literature Conference, the NOLA Book Look program, the Pioneer Water Summer Reading Program, and the Youth Services Symposium. Sue has also worked with the Virginia Hamilton Conference and will be remembered for the consulting that she has done over the years with the children's librarians in the NOLA libraries. She has also served as the Acting Director three times.

Sue has received the Diana Vescelius Memorial Award from the Ohio Library Council and the Louise Seamen Bechtel Fellowship from the University of Florida in 1993. She is currently on the ALSC Board of Directors.

Sue has accepted a temporary position at the Lima Public Library. I hope that you will take the opportunity to wish Sue the very best. She will be missed by all of us.
