Do You Remember? Remember the NOLA Pen Pal Project? Well, if you have forgotten any details, you can refresh your memory. Donna Fried, a contributing editor for the ALA publication, Public Libraries, wrote an article entitled "Cooperation Among Small Libraries Creates Successful Pen Pal Project" which appears in the March/April 1998 issue. Donna is the Branch Manager of Bainbridge Library, Geauga County Public Library System. What Donna does not say is that she was the public children's librarian that sparked this wonderful project. Additionally, the Pen Pal Project has led to a total of six wonderful summer reading finales at the water park sponsored by NOLA Regional Library System for thousands of children and their families in the nine-county area served by NOLA.
