Special Technical Edition

From the Field - Kenneth Bell

Workstation Setup Timesaver

If you are tasked with setting up several workstations with the same configuration, you may be interested in drive cloning software. Specifically, you might really be interested in drive cloning software that works over a TCP/IP connection. Imagecast (from the folks that bring you the MicroHouse Technical Library), is a way cool program. Restore dead systems, clean up problem computers and backup your network all with one utility. This one's a must have.

Motherboard Heaven

If you ever cracked the case on a PC due to some incompatibility, you know the value of a good technical resource. Motherboards.org is such a site. A free version of the previously mentioned Technical Library, this is a handy site to find BIOS, jumper and compatibility info.

Windows Central

This jam packed site dedicated to all things Windows is helpful. I recently used some of the info pertaining to multiple CPUs on NT.

Who the Heck is Tom?

Tom's Hardware is a cool site devoted to the PC gear head. Don't believe me? Here's a sample link from the homepage "How To Run ANY 66 MHz FSB Slot 1 CPUs at 100 MHz FSB in ANY BX Motherboard".
