NOLA Has Free Journals For The Taking

NOLA has been cleaning house and we have a number of journals that we would like to give to our member libraries to complete their collections and over 100 books. They will be in the NOLA Conference and Training Center's small meeting room from July 1 - 17, 1998. They are free for the taking. Click here for a list of journal titles.

Girard's Web Based Catalog Now Online

The Girard Free Library Website now has a link to the online library catalog. Browse the collection and find what you need. Where else might you find "The Quicksand Book"  which discusses the composition of quicksand and rescue procedures? While visiting the library homepage, take a trip to the Girard City page.

Gingrich Continues to Push for Scrapping the Erate

Though it looks like time is running out for Congress to rework the Erate program this session, Newt is continuing to stump for scuttling the program. Look for the retooled program to continue initially, with the senate leading a new direction next session. A likely scenario is one discussed here before, proposed by Senator Burns which re-routes other taxes towards wiring schools and libraries.
