Online Privacy Could Soon be Legislated In what could be one of the first major successful steps towards regulation of the Internet, the Federal Trade Commission released a report on Thursday slamming online privacy. The report is particularly harsh towards children's sites, noting that 89% of the surveyed sites solicited information from children, yet fewer than 10 percent provide for some form of parental control over the collection and/or use of information from children.
